Julie Hall is a Consulting Actuary with Perr & Knight.  Julie has a great deal of ratemaking and product development experience primarily in personal lines.  Julie’s experience includes working with personal automobile, homeowners, travel, event ticket, tuition, dwelling/fire, medical malpractice, businessowners, and commercial residential insurance products.

Prior to joining Perr & Knight in 2020, Julie worked as Director of Rate Development & Pricing for Allianz Partners located in Richmond, VA.  At Allianz, she was responsible for directing the pricing team, providing product development support and managing the implementation of all travel, event ticket and tuition insurance filings.  In addition, Julie developed the pricing team from the ground up while establishing processes for creating and managing rate filings, responding to objections, and developing a good working relationship with insurance departments.  Julie also led several efforts to drive efficiencies, reduce review times, and introduce new approaches to travel and tuition insurance ratemaking. Prior to her time at Allianz, Julie held positions with Horace Mann Insurance Company, the Illinois Division of Insurance and Universal North America where she worked on mostly auto and homeowner insurance pricing projects as well as some medical malpractice, businessowners and commercial residential.  Julie participated in the American Academy of Actuaries Travel Insurance Task Force and during this time, co-authored Travel Insurance – An Actuarial Perspective, which was published in September 2018.

Julie graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a degree in Actuarial Science in 1989 and in 2022, she also graduated from Southern New Hampshire University with a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership.  She is an Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society, a member of the American Academy of Actuaries and is a Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter; she is actively continuing professional development efforts through actuarial and insurance-related avenues.
