Timothy B. Perr is a Managing Principal and Chief Executive Officer of Perr&Knight, the firm he co-founded with Scott Knight in 1994. He is responsible for the overall management of the firm’s 100-plus professionals and is the point person on many of the firm’s largest engagements. Tim has played a key role in building Perr&Knight into a leading provider of actuarial, competitive intelligence, data, insurance technology and regulatory compliance services to the insurance industry.

Tim started his professional career as an actuary working for the National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI) in 1985. Since then, his employment has included stints at Tillinghast, Coopers & Lybrand, KPMG Peat Marwick and Transamerica Insurance Group. Tim works in Perr&Knight’s home office located in Santa Monica, California.

Tim graduated from the State University of New York at Stony Brook with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics and Statistics in 1984. He completed one year of postgraduate work at Columbia University in the area of Probability and Statistics. He has attained the professional designations of Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society and Member of the American Academy of Actuaries. He actively continues his professional education as a speaker and participant at industry-sponsored actuarial and insurance-related seminars and workshops.
