Diane Karis is a Principal & Director with Perr&Knight’s Regulatory Compliance Practice area. Her responsibilities include oversight of state filings, bureau monitoring, insurance company licensing, producer licensing and appointments, and surplus lines tax reporting.  Before her current position as Director of Regulatory Compliance, Diane was Perr&Knight’s Director of Competitive Intelligence.

Prior to joining Perr&Knight’s Santa Monica, California office in 2002, Diane spent three years consulting in the e-learning industry, specializing in the development and implementation of customizable, web-based corporate training. Prior to that, she spent seven years at CIGNA Healthcare as Manager of Dental Provider Relations where she was responsible for eight states representing over $70M in annual premiums. Diane was accountable for driving the yearly planning process on both a national and regional level. She worked with her field representatives to devise local market strategies, ensuring service levels, competitive benchmarks and profit targets were achieved.

Diane graduated, cum laude, with a Bachelors of Science in Management degree in finance from the A.B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University. She received her Master of Business Administration, with a concentration on marketing from the University of Miami.  Diane is a respected member of numerous industry associations including the AICP, filling past and present leadership roles such as Western Region Chapter Treasurer, Chapter Secretary, and National Finance Committee member. She is also a member of the Securities & Insurance Licensing Association (SILA) and an “Interested Party” and active contributor to the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) Producer Licensing Working Group, National Treatment and Coordination Working Group and Speed to Market Group.
