Denise Farnan is Principal & Consulting Actuary with Perr&Knight, serving as the firm’s Chief Actuary. In her role as Chief Actuary, she is responsible for the leadership and general management of Perr&Knight’s Actuarial Practice area including its Predictive Analytics unit. As a Consulting Actuary, Denise provides in-depth actuarial analysis and insightful guidance to clients. She has extensive experience with pricing, reserving and new product development for numerous personal and commercial lines, including Personal Auto and Workers Compensation. Denise serves as the Appointed Actuary for multiple insurance companies. She also leads Predictive Analytics consulting projects including rate development, underwriting, independent peer review of models and claim analytics.
Prior to joining Perr&Knight’s Boca Raton, Florida office in 2008, Denise led the actuarial department at Bristol West Insurance Group, a non-standard auto insurer, where she was responsible for reserving, pricing indications, financial reporting and numerous research projects involving generalized linear modeling. Her additional prior experience includes nine years at the National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI), holding various responsibilities including state actuary.
Denise Farnan has a Master of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of Florida. Denise is an Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries. She has served as President of the Casualty Actuaries of the Southeast, a regional affiliate of the Casualty Actuarial Society, and has presented at industry conferences.
