Cyndi Cooper is a Principal & Consulting Actuary with Perr&Knight. Cyndi leads a team of actuaries that provides analysis and guidance to clients for pricing, reserving and new product development for commercial and personal lines products across all states. Cyndi has experience on a wide range of personal and commercial lines with an emphasis on workers’ compensation including excess workers’ compensation, large risk alternative rating options, retrospective rating, and large deductible plans. Cyndi’s work includes regulatory rate compliance, competitor analyses, rate/rule filings, ratemaking, product development, reserve analyses and statements of actuarial opinion. Cyndi is the Appointed Actuary for multiple insurance companies.
Prior to joining Perr&Knight’s Boca Raton, Florida office in 2018, Cyndi worked as a regulatory actuary for the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation (“OIR”) for eight years. While at the OIR, Cyndi led the Workers’ Compensation Unit which is responsible for compliance and review of rate, rule and form filing submissions. She also performed actuarial analysis and evaluation of personal automobile and workers’ compensation filings for underwriting guidelines, dividend plans, rate levels, rules, and rating plans. Cyndi has also provided expert testimony on various occasions. Cyndi began her actuarial career at the National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI) where her responsibilities included data analysis, ratemaking, reserving, actuarial research, and legislative pricing for many states. She has been in the actuarial field since 2001.
Cyndi received a Bachelor of Science degree in Actuarial Science from Florida State University. Cyndi is an Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
