Insurance Licensing Coordinator

Perr&Knight’s growing Regulatory Compliance practice area is seeking to add a Licensing Coordinator to our Santa Monica, California team.  The Licensing Coordinator will assist our clients with acquiring and maintaining their various licenses, registrations, and reports in compliance with state regulations.

What you’ll be doing:

  • ​Communicate with clients regarding license application data requirements, project status, deadlines and regulatory
  • Submit new licensing applications for Agents, Agencies, Managing General Agencies, Risk Purchasing Groups,
    Insurance Companies and other licensed entities
  • Process renewals for licensed entities
  • Monitor and maintain current producer license and appointment data in an internal database
  • Process new appointment requests, appointment renewals and appointment terminations for Agents and Agencies
  • Perform regulatory research to help determine requirements for new product offerings
  • Establish and maintain good relationships with licensing staff at various departments of insurance
  • Prepare and submit surplus lines tax reports
  • Assist with the development and testing of cloud-based licensing software

What you’ll bring to the table:

  • College degree from an accredited college/university
  • Proficiency at scheduling and prioritizing work and deliverables to consistently meet deadlines
  • Attention to detail, good organization, resourcefulness, sound judgment and confidence
  • Aptitude and motivation for staying current with regulatory changes and developing expertise in all areas of licensing
  • Intermediate Windows, Outlook, Word and Excel skills
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex instructions, bulletins and documentation
  • Flexibility and composure in the face of changing assignments, priorities or goals
  • Excellent follow-up, documentation and communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-pace, time-sensitive environment
  • A knack for recognizing opportunities for automation, streamlining and process improvement
